Background

Pardee, Don Albert was born on March 29, 1837 in Wadsworth, Medina Company, Ohio, United States. Son of Aaron and Eveline (Eyles) Pardee.

Education

Acting midshipman United States Naval Academy, 1854-1857.

Career

Admitted to bar, 1859. Practiced at Medina, O., 1859-1861. Major 42d Ohio Infantry, October 27, 1861.

Lieutenant colonel, March 14, 1862. Bvtd. colonel vols. and brigadier general vols., March 13, 1865, “for gallant and meritorious services during the war.” Resumed practice at New Orleans, 1865. Register in bankruptcy, 1867.

Judge 2d Judicial District of Louisiana, 1868-1880. Delegate Louisiana Constitutional Convention, 1879. Republican candidate for attorney-general, 1880.

United States circuit judge, 5th Judicial Circuit, May since 1881. Removed to Atlanta, June 1898. Home: Atlanta, Ga.
