Began career as sculptor 1917. Attended Santa Barbara School of Arts, studied modelling and wax casting under Archibald Dawson of Glasgow. Awarded Gould Memorial and Travel scholarships to Mexico, 1928-1929, later to Philadelphia and New York City.
Since 1929 has worked in San Diego in wood and stone.
