After an education in the city schools of New York he studied architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, was graduated in 1917.
In 1917 Mr. Dunn remained in Boston for a few years, and as draftsman in the office of Blackall, Clapp & Whittemore assisted in preparing plans for the Little Office Building in the city.
Moving to Cleveland in 1917 he entered the office of Walker & Weeks and while employed there worked on the plans of a number of important buildings including the Federal Reserve Bank and the Cleveland Public Library, In 1926 he left to establish a partnership with Monroe W. Copper and continued work under the firm name until his career was cut.
