He promoted numerous concerts and Canadian musicians under the name Donald. His interest in entertainment promotion began in his youth. He was one of several people who began the Montreal-based Aquarius Records, noted for artists such as April Wine, Corey Hart and Sum 41.
Besides his involvement in Aquarius, Tarlton promoted or produced other artists such as: 1982: Félix Award, Producer of the Year.
