Began newspaper work as reporter on Washington (District of Columbia) Evening Star, 1903. Became member congressional and political staff, same, 1907. Joined Washington staff New York Herald, 1909.

Correspondent of Herald and of Louisville (Kentucky) Courier-Journal, Toronto (Ontario) Evening Telegram, et cetera, till 1913.

Manager New York Herald’s Washington Bureau and correspondent Paris Herald, 1913-1923. Correspondent New York Evening Sun, 1923-1925.

Correspondent various newspapers, since 1921. Also engaged in newspaper, magazine and history writing and research and radio broadcasting.
