Born in, Cody first excelled at hurling during his schooling at Saint He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the minor team He made his senior debut during the 2006 championship.
At club level Cody is a one-time All-Ireland medallist with. Throughout his career Cody made 3 championship appearances.
He retired from inter-county hurling following the conclusion of the 2008 championship.
