Through Jesus' death on the cross, and his resurrection, God has broken the power of all that is evil, in the world and in us.

The state should not attempt to control the church, nor should the church seek to dominate the state. The separation of church and state should not be misconstrued as the abolition of all religious expression from public life.

As human beings people find themselves as part of an unjust, sinful and violent world, which we may feel individually helpless to change. If we accept forgiveness, God can enable us to resist evil and to live life to the full.
