Poynter has co-writer credits on many of "s tracks, including the lead writer cr on their 2007 number-one single "Transylvania".

Poynter also wrote an unrecorded track called "Silence Is a Scary Sound", which features as a live recording on their third studio album Motion in the Ocean. In 2013, joined forces with Matt Willis and James Bourne of Busted to form supergroup They have since had the biggest United Kingdom tour of 2014.
