Douglas Kenyon has been president and director of his own gallery, Douglas Kenyon, Inc., since 1969. When he founded this, while still Conservator of Prints and Drawings at the Art Institute of Chicago, he was setting a precedent. Douglas Kenyon offered clients outstanding service by providing a knowledgeable staff and a great product. This process has been upheld for the last 40 years. Our mission is to provide artwork in the form of giclée images of the highest quality to the greatest number of people. For five decades Douglas Kenyon has collected Native American and Western art. Purchased from auctions, estates and fellow collectors, he restores the imagery from original one-of-a-kind prints, negatives and antique glass photo negatives. He is one of the nation's foremost authority on historic hand-colored restorations and archival reproductions.
Douglas Kenyon also was a conservator in the prints and drawings department of the Art Institute of Chicago from 1970 to 1978 and remains a consulting conservator there. From 1965 to 1970 he was a photography collection assistant at the institute.
