Career
A Welsh schoolboy international, Lewis began his career as an apprentice at his home town club Swansea City, making his professional debut in a 2–1 defeat to N ottinghamshire County. After establishing himself in the side, Lewis helped the club to three Welsh Cup victories and promotion to Division Three during the 1987-1988 season after beating Torquay United in the play-off final. Lewis made his only appearance for Wales on 12 June 1983 as a substitute for Jeremy Charles during a 1–1 draw with Brazil.
