Served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs) at Great lakes University of Kisumu, Chairman Department of Chemistry , University of Nairobi, Chairman, Water Hyacinth Control and monitoring Committee - LVEMP Project, Kisumu, Kenya, 1999—2001. Chairman, industry standards committee Kenya Bureau Standards, Kenya, Member, University council University Nairobi, Kenya.

Currently Professor of Chemistry, Department of Chemistry, University of Nairobi.
