2006 - Current Pursuing a doctoral degree in Instructional Technology & Distance with a minor in Curriculum and Staff Development Elections were on August 26, 2014. Another notion in her campaign was to bring alertness to the changes needed to compete with other districts in the nation such as, New York City Department of, Los Angeles Unified School District, and Chicago Public Schools.
Miyar lost the election with only 18% of the vote to Perla Tabaras Hantman"s 81%. Miyar, 46, said she is a veteran English teacher who came to South Florida from Turkey.
She said she wants to bring an educator’s perspective to the school board.
