Dya KIBEL, USSR Mathematician. Specialist in hydromech. and dynamic meteorology; Professor, Moscow Central Weather Forecasting Institute, since 1949; corresponding member, USSR Academy of Science, since 1943.
KIBEL, Dya was born in 1904.
1925 graduated Saratov University.
1925-1943 associate, Main Geophysical Observatory. Since 1943 at Moscow Central Weather Forecasting Institute. Was first to develop and obtain special solutions for a simplified closed system of equations of dynamic meteorology.
1940 worked out first approximation solution of problem precalculating pressure and temperature field for a period of several days. His works play important role in modem weather forecasting methods and the synthesis for climatic theory.
