Education
Studied at private schools and in France.
Career
Served in the 88th Connaught Rangers in the Crimea, and throughout the Indian Mutiny. Commanded successively two Jersey Militia Regiments. Appointed Lieutenant Bailiff to Sir George Bertram, late Bailiff of Jersey.
Provincial Grand Master of Freemasons for the province of Jersey, 1869, and Grand Superintendent of Royal Architecture Masonry, 1871.
Is Seigneur of Saint Ouen, the most important fief in Jersey, holding directly from the Crown by knight’s service. Jurat of the Royal Court of Jersey since 1886.
