Career
He helped found the Derry Housing Action Committee(DHAC) and the Derry Unemployment Action Committee (DUAC) which campaigned for jobs and housing for the predominantly catholic people of Derry city who were being discriminated against by the Unionist controlled corporation. As a result, Melaugh and the DHAC became involved with the Northern Ireland Civil Rights Association in the late 1960s. As a result, he contributed evidence to the Bloody Sunday Inquiry.
Eamonn has been a keen amateur photographer.
He is an active party member and ran as a candidate for the Workers" Party of Ireland and its predecessor Republican Clubs/Official Sinn Féin in various elections in the Foyle constituency.
