Earnest Hoberecht was born on January 1, 1918, in Watonga, Oklahoma, United States. He was the son of Earnest Trevar, Sr. and Grace (Woolman) Hoberecht.

Hoberecht began his career in Oklahoma, in 1935, as a newspaper reporter at Watonga Republican. From 1937 to 1941, he was a part-time staff at Oklahoma City News, Daily Oklahoman in Oklahoma City. Then, from 1941 to 1942, he was a reporter at Memphis Press-Scimitar.
From 1942 to 1943, Hoberecht was a laborer at the Navy Yard, in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He also was an editor at Pearl Harbor Bulletin, from 1944 to 1945, and war correspondent at Pacific, Uttar Pradesh. From 1945 to 1948, Earnest was at a staff position at Tokyo bureau, Uttar Pradesh, then he became a chief correspondent there, and then a manager.
From 1951 to 1966, Hoberecht held the position of a general manager at Asia, Uttar Pradesh, and during this time, he also was a vice president at United Press International. That post he held from 1953 to 1966. From 1972, Earnest held the position of a chairman at Watonga Abstract Company, Inc., and became the owner of the Earnest Hoberecht Insurance. In 1987, Hoberecht became a member of the Oklahoma State Board Corrections, and then its president from 1990 to 1991.
Hoberecht believed that there are different understandings about the Bible's authority in our lives. The task of every believer is to use different Bible translations and commentaries in order to discover the word of God.
Hoberecht considered that the state should not use its authority to promote any particular religious belief. It should allow people practice their own religious convictions.
Hoberecht was a member of Foreign Correspondents Club and Sigma Delta Chi.
Hoberecht was married four times. In August 1939, his first wife became Katherine Row, but, in 1940, they divorced. On November 16, 1940, he married Mary Jane Royal, but their marriage also ended in divorce in 1945.
On May 6, 1959, Hoberecht married Laurette Heger, but they also divorced in June 1969. His fourth wife was Mary Ann Shaklee Karns, whom he married on April 26, 1970.
Hoberecht had four children - Antonia, Earnest Trevar III, Nathalie and Shelley.
