Rabbi Edgar Gluck of Brooklyn, New York was first appointed to the United States. Commission for the Preservation of America"s Heritage Abroad on June 25, 1987 and most recently reappointed on March 10, 1998 at the recommendation of the Speaker of the House of Representatives. His term expired on June 24, 2001 but, pursuant to law, he continues to serve in it until a new appointment is made.
Since February 23, 2008, he is a member of the Rabbinate of the Republic of Poland.
