Kelley, Edgar Stillman was born on April 14, 1857 in Sparta, Wisconsin, United States. Son of Hiram Edgar and Mary Clarinda (Bingham) Kelley.

Education

Graduate of Stuttgart Conservatory of Music, 1880. Composition under Max Seifriz, royal court conductor. Doctor of Letters, Miami, 1916.

Doctor of Laws, University Cincinnati, 1917.

Career

Special instructor in composition, New York College Music, 1896-1899, lecturer on music, extension department, New York University. Acting professor musical theory, Yale University, 1901-1902. Teacher and conductor, Berlin, Germany, 1902-1910.

Now lecturer at Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.
