Career
Conroy was born in Rossland, British Columbia and raised in Castlegar. He was educated in Castlegar and at the University of Victoria. Before entering politics, Conroy worked on a towboat.
He also raised purebred cattle.
He was defeated by Sandy Santori when he ran for reelection to the provincial assembly in 2001.
