Edward D. Eyestone is a two-time Olympic marathoner and long distance runner.
Education
Eyestone attended Brigham Young University (Brigham Young University) earning a Bachelor of Arts (Bachelor) in psychology and a Master of Science (Mississippi) in exercise science. He finished his collegiate career with four National Collegiate Athletic Association Championships.
Career
While at Brigham Young University, he became a 10-time National Collegiate Athletic Association All-American and in 1984 went undefeated in National Collegiate Athletic Association cross-country events. In 1985, the Academic All-American and recipient of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Top Six Award set a then-National Collegiate Athletic Association record in the 10,000 meters with a time of 27:41:05. After putting up his shoes, Eyestone has become a noted distance and road racing expert, serving as a columnist for Runner"s World magazine and television commentor for Entertainment and Sports Programming Network"s "Race of the Month" series.
Eyestone served as an analyst for National Broadcasting Company Sports coverage of Track and Field and Race Walking at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Eyestone returned to Brigham Young University as head coach of the cross-country team
Previously he served as assistant track coach at Weber State University.
