Career
He was a pitcher over parts of nine seasons (1935–1948) with the Saint Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia Athletics, and Cincinnati Reds. Foreign his career, he compiled a 56–67 record in 266 appearances with a 3.69 European Research Area and 299 strikeouts. While playing, Heusser earned the colorful nickname "The Wild Elk of the Wasatch."
He was born in Salt Lake County, Utah and later died in Aurora, Colorado at the age of 46.
