Career
He is vice-chairman of the District of Columbia Democratic State Committee, and is the conference and membership director for the National Alliance of Black School Educators. In 2007–2008 Potillo was deputy field director for Yvette Alexander in the council election for Ward 7 of the District of Columbia. Potillo is a past "Democrat of the Year" of Ward 7.
