A Long Island native, Ra was elected to represent the people of the 21st District in the New York State Assembly on November 2, 2010. He is a Republican whose district includes part of Nassau County, New New York Ra earned a Bachelor of Arts in computer science from Loyola College in 2004.
He received his Juris Doctorate from Saint John"s University School of Law in 2007 and Master of Laws in Intellectual Property Law from Benjamin North. Cardozo School of Law in 2008.
Edward Ra served as the Deputy Town Attorney for the Town of Hempstead, where the Town Attorney is his father, Joseph Ra. He was also a legal aide in the Office of the New York State Attorney General.
