Sadowski was born in Akron, Ohio.
He starred at Seton Hall University during the late 1930s and early 1940s. A 6 feet 5 inches (196 m) center, he led Seton Hall to its only undefeated season (1939–1940). Professional basketball

As a member of the Boston Celtics in 1947-1948, Sadowski ranked third in the Bachelor of Applied Arts in points per game (194) and was named to the All-Bachelor of Applied Arts first team, made him the first ever Boston Celtics player to named All-Bachelor of Applied Arts/National Basketball Association Team.
