GYULLING, Edvard was born on November 30, 1881.
1908-1918 deputy, Finnish Sejm. 1910-1918 associate professor, Helsinki University. 1905 joined Social-Democratic Party of Finland (SDPF) and sided with its left (Marxist) wing.
1913-1917 member, Executive Committee, SDPF. 1917-1918 chairman, SDPF. During the 1918 Workers’ Revol in Finland member, Revol Government.
Chief of main staff, Red Guards. Late 1918, after the collapse of revol, emigrated to Sweden where he worked with F’or Bureau, Central Committee, Communist Party Finland. 1920 emigrated to Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics and received Soviet citizenship.
Helped found Karelian Labor Commune (from 1923 Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic). 1920-1923 chairman, Karelian Oblast Executive Committee. 1923-1935 chairman, Karelian Economic Council.
1935-1937 with International Economy Institute in Moscow;member, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Cenlr Executive Committee of 1 all convocations. 1937 arrested by State Security organs.
Member, Finnish Social-Democratic Party from 1905. Communist Party member from 1920.
