Educated in London, Mr. Aves received an architectural training in London in the office of the elder Pugin, noted church designer.
At the age of twenty-one he migrated to the U. S. and began his career in New York as an architectural draftsman. Later he established his own office and for nearly fifty years was active in New York and Brooklyn. One of the several early churches he designed, was St. Agnes, later destroyed by fire.
