Greenwood"s batting style is unknown. Greenwood made a single first-class appearance for Kent against Lancashire in 1873 at the Bat and Ball Ground, Gravesend. Lancashire then made 96 all out in their second-innings, setting Kent a target of 82 for victory.
Kent reached their target with three wickets to spare, although Greenwood, who batted at number five in this innings, was dismissed for 13 runs by William McIntyre.
This was his only major appearance. He died at Smithwood House in Wonersh, Surrey, on 25 January 1899.
