Spillane, Edward was born on November 19, 1859 in New York City. Son of Maurice and Margaret (Malone) Spillane.

Ordained R. C. priest, 1891. Vice president St. Francis Xavier’s College, New York, 1893-1895. Professor various branches in Baltimore, Boston, and Philadelphia until 1902.
