Edward Brickell White was born in 1806.
He designed the Centenary Methodist Church (1842) for the Second Baptist Congregation; Church of the Hugenots (1845) of Gothic Revival design, built at #136 Church Street; the Grace Episcopal Church, dating from 1847, and an addition of wings to the old Citadel, of which Frederick Wesner was the original architect.
There is also record of two churches in Columbia, S. C., believed to be the work of Mr. White, St. John’s Lutheran (1832) and Trinity Episcopal on Sumter Street.
