OTTLEY, Edward Bickersteth was born on January 18, 1853 in Richmond, Yorkshire. Son of Reverend Laurence Ottley, Master of Arts, Trinity College Cambridge, Canon of Ripon Cathedral and Rector of Richmond, Yorkshire. G.-son of Sir Richard Ottley, Chief Justice of Ceylon.
Studied at Keble College, Oxford. 2nd Class Theol. Honourable, 1876. Master of Arts.

Minister of Quebec Chapel, 1883 (consecrated as Church of Annunciation and parish assigned, 1894). Honourable Chaplain, Samaritan Free Hospital for Women, 1883-1889. Member of Mission of Help to Church in South Africa, 1904. Canon Residentiary of Rochester, 1907; formerly Vicar of Parish of the Annunciation (formerly Quebec Chapel), St. Marylebone, and Prebendary of Caddington Major in St. Paul’s Cathedral.
