Public school education. C.E., Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 1878. (honorary Master of Arts, Cornell College, Iowa, 1904).

Career

Engaged on United States improvement of Missouri and Mississippi rivers, 1878-1883. Bridge work, Canton, O., 1883-1889. Designing steel work for buildings, since 1889.

Engineer for Burnham & Root, architects, 1889-1894. Engineer of construction and chief engineer of works, Chicago Exposition, 1891-1893. Member D. H. Burnham & Company, 1894-1898, of E. C. & R. M. Shankland, since 1898.

Membership

Member Harbor Subway Commission, Chicago, 1911-1916.
