First Lieutenant of His Majesty’s Ship Victoria when she foundered off the coast of Syria, 1893, but was then in Malta Hospital owing to an accident. Afterwards First Lieutenant of His Majesty’s Ship Ramillies and Commander of His (or Her) Majesty ships Trafalgar and Royal Sovereign in the Mediterranean. Assistant Director of Naval Intelligence, 1901-1905.
