Vice-President of Committee of Agriculture, 1886. Retired from office and joined Liberal Unionist party. Chairman of Liberal Unionist Council from 1893-1898.
Was Vice-Chainnan of Agricultural Chamber, 1870. Chairman, 1871; President of Fisherman’s Provident Association (Grimsby Branch). Member of Central Council.
