Background

Kimball, Edward Partridge was born on June 12, 1882 in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. Son of Albert Heber and Harriet (Partridge) Kimball.

Education

Studied piano with Alberto Jonas, Berlin, and New York, organ with Walter Fischer, Berlin, and R. Huntington Woodman, New York, theory with Wilhelm Klatte, Berlin.

Career

Director Music Brigham Young U., 1898-1899, Latter Day Saints U., 1908-1909. Assistant organist Tabernacle, 1905-1925, senior organist, since 1925. Professor organ and lecturer on music history, McCune School of Music, Salt Lake City.

Formerly sergeant Utah National Guard. Chairman Committee on Music of War Camp Community Service. State director Liberty Choruses and Community Singing for Utah.
