Career
Joined Norfolk Regiment, 1888. Served in Upper Burma, 1887-1889 (medal and clasp). Dongola Expedition, 1896 (despatches, medal, 2 clasps).
Operations Sudan, 1897 (despatches clasp). Atbara Campaign, 1898 (despatches, clasp). Khartoum Campaign, 1898 (despatches, Brevet-Majority, English medal, clasp to Khedive’s medal).
Operations against Ahmed Fedil, 1899 (despatches, Companion of the Distinguished Service Order, 3rd class Medjidie). Companion of the Distinguished Service Order; Major Norfolk Regiment, served with Egyptian Army; Temp. Lieutenant-Colonel, 1906; Temp. Colonel Northern Nigeria Regiment, 1909.
