After 1922 associated in partnership with William C. Lurkey, and received his architectural training in local offices. Beginning his career in the department of construction, Office of the U. S. Supervising Architect, where he remained ten years, he was later associated with the firm of Lansing & Beierl, Carling & Coxhead, E. A. Kent and George Cary. Under the firm name of Bacon & Lurkey he designed and supervised the erection of the following buildings in Buffalo: Unity Theatre; Riverside and Kenmore Theatres; Linwood Medical Center Building; Churchill Tabernacle, and a number of apartment houses.
