DURNING-LAWRENCE, Edwin was born in 1837 in London. Youngest son of late William Lawrence, Alderman, and b. of late Sir William Lawrence, Member of Parliament London, and late Sir J. C. Lawrence, Baronet, Member of Parliament Lambeth.

Studied at University College School and University College London. Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws, in Honours.

Career

Barrister Middle Temple, 1867. A short time member Metropolitan Board of Works. Contested East. Berkshire, 1865.

Burnley,1892. Member of Parliament (Liberal Unionist)Truro, 1895-1906. Assumed by Royal license the additional name of Durning, 1898. 1st Baronet; cartulary-register 1898.
