Participated in many battles and skirmishes.
Recommended for brevetted commission at close of war. Engaged with John L. Woods, of Lexington, Michigan, in lumber business, 1865.
Was taken into partnership, 1870, business being conducted under various names, as Woods & Company, Pack, Woods & Company, et cetera Has also been president mining companies, steamship companies, manufactories, et cetera, but has been connected with nothing in the nature of a “trust”.
