Ladd, Edwin Fremont was born on December 13, 1859 in Starks, Maine, United States. Son of John and Rosilla (Locke) Ladd.

Bachelor of Science, University of Maine, 1884, Doctor of Laws, 1915.

Career

Assistant chemist and chief chemist, New York State Experiment Station, 1884-1890. Dean School of Chemistry and Pharmacy and professor of chemistry, North Dakota Agricultural College, and chief chemist, North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station, 1890-1916, president, since 1916. Also state chemist. Food commissioner of North Dakota, since 1902.

Editor the North Dakota Farmer, since 1899.
