Studied at private school in Brighton. Articled to late Thomas Simpson (architect to the Brighton Education Commander).
Works: mostly private country houses, schools, and some church work in the home counties.Subsequently worked as assistant in Surrey and the west of England. Commenced practice in Brighton in 1878. Elected a member of the Society of Architects in 1887, and served as President 1894-1895,1895-1896, and 1908.
Chairman of the Sussex Congregational Union, 1907.
