Lecturer on patent law, Lehigh University Active since 1898 in promotion of appreciation of value of patent system on the part of public and Congress. Led national organizations of patent bar, manufacturers and engineers in securing increases of Patent-Office salaries by passage of the Lampert Acting, 1922, and of Acting for Reclassifying Civil Salaries, 1923, and in campaigns of 1925 and 1926, in securing increase of salaries of federal judiciary, serving as a vice chairman Lawyers’ National Committee to Procure Adequate Compensation for latter.
Proposed and led in enactment of an amendment to the patent statue simplifying accountings and making recoveries possible in most cases in patent suits where defendants have made profits. Started movement, in New England Society of Orange, New Jersey, resulting in mosquito extermination law of New Jersey Proposed by New York Patent Law Association to President Coolidge, 1928, for judge Court of Customs and Patents Appeals, but withdrew name for economic reasons.
