Olitskaia, Ekaterina was born in 1898.
In the 1920s, became a member of the underground cells of the SR Party. Arrested in 1924 and sent to the notorious Solovki labour camp, 1924-1925. Till 1927, in Urals camps.
From 1927-1930, in exile in Central Asia. Released, lived in Riazan’. Illegally moved near Moscow and printed SR leaflets in 1932.
Rearrested the same year. Until 1937, in Suzdal and Iaroslavl’ prisons. Sent to Kolyma camps in 1937.
Exiled to Krasnoiarsk in 1947. Released after Stalin’s death. Her memoirs, which became widely known through samizdat in the late 1960s, give valuable information on the fate of socialists (especially SRs) in the 1920-1930s.
