Ekaterina Nikolaevna Almedingen was a Russian children's writer.

Ekaterina Nikolaevna Almedingen was born on August 18, 1853 in Nizhny Novgorod, Russian Federation (according to other sources – August 18, 1852 in Orlov, Russian Federation). She was from the family of an official. She was the niece of E.A. Sysoeva.
Education
In 1865-180 Ekaterina Nikolaevnastudied at the Nizhny Novgorod girls’ gymnasium.
Career
Ekaterina Nikolaevna used to teach Russian language and history. She published stories and essays in the journals "Vospitanie i Obuchenie" (Parenting and Teaching) and "Rodnik" (spring-well). The works of Ekaterina Nikolaevna corresponded with the desire of these publishing houses to arouse in children an interest in the life of the people, their history.
In 1883-1887, she posted correspondence from Nizhny Novgorod in the newspaper "Novosti" (News). Posthumously were published "Made a mistake. Pictures of Family Life" (1888) and the translation of the play by E. Rostan "Samaryanka" (1909).
