Career
Unlike the Khwarazm Shahs that succeeded him, he was not a descendant of Anush Tigin. Following the death of Anush Tigin, Ekinchi was given the position of Khwarazm Shah by the Seljuk sultan Barkiyaruq. After a short period of time, however, he was killed by several Seljuk amirs that had risen in revolt.
After he died, he was replaced with Anush Tigin"s son, Qutb al-Din Muhammad.
