Educated first at Marrakesh then at Casablanca where he was admitted to the bar.
As an activist in the independent movement he was made a member the Secret Executive Committee 1953. Imprisoned and exiled by French he never stopped campaign and took every chance to help nationalist colleagues brought be tribunals.
Following his governorship Marrakesh he was appointed Governor of the province of Marrakesh on May 2, 1972. Seven months later he was back in the cabinet as Minister of Justice.
Distinguished barrister renowned before independence as a skilled defender was arrested by nationalists. In the forefront of the nationalist movement he was frequently detained by the French an on one occasion deported. Afterwar as an ambassador and on two occasions as a governor, he commanded great resp in the government for his judgment.
