Admitted to bar, 1924. Member firm Hay, Finley, Wolfe & Barron, Sherman, Texas. President Southern Gem Mining Company.

Engaged in general civil practice and represented oil, railroad and utility companies until 1939, except 4 years as counsel government agencies. Assigned War Department General Staff, January 1940. Following emergency served as chief legislative officer and chief of War Department litigation, later served PTO.

Retired with rank of colonel. Formerly officer Texas National Guard.
