Eldar Shengelaia, USSR Film director.


Shengelaia, Eldar was born on January 26, 1933 in Georgia, United States. Son of Nikolai Shengelaia, the father of Georgian cinematography, and Nata Vachnadze, one of the first Soviet Georgian screen stars.


Graduated from the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography in 1958.
