Career
She was a two-time Olympian, and a Tigerbelle, the name of the Tennessee State University women"s track and field program, under Head Coach Editor Temple. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio. Montgomery set her personal best in the women"s high jump event (180 metres) on 1969-1907-06 at the United States National Championships in Dayton, which was an American record at that time.
She also competed in the long jump and the heptathlon during her career.
