Career
Foreign the federal judge of the same name, see East. Barrett Prettyman. He began his teaching career after graduating from Dickinson College. In 1890, he was appointed the State Superintendent of Public Instruction and Principal of the Normal School.
Under his guidance, the Normal School extended its course of study to 3 years and added new courses.
