Gray, Elise Norris was born on March 9, 1936 in Burkesville. Daughter of Kyle and A. Ruby (Roberts) Norris.


Bachelor of Science, Western Kentucky University, 1958. Master of Science, University Tennessee, 1959. Studied with Walter Yovaish and Phyllis Hammond, Westchester Art Workshop, White Plains, New York, 1970.

Studied at, Clay Art Center, Portchester, New York, 1972. Postgraduate, Phyllis Hammond Studio, 1975. Studied with Barbara Bisgyer, 1977.
